Yesterday, Iraq lost one of the most important popular poets, Muzaffar al-Nawab, who is called the great poet. Muzaffar al-Nawab was known for belonging to the radical leftist revolutionary movement.
His poems were famous for his revolutionary expressions towards the Arab and Iraqi rulers. He also wrote many poems about the Palestinian cause. Iraqis’ love for Muzaffar, regardless of their political affiliations, cannot be described in words, because Muzaffar was not only a poet, but one of the fiercest fighters against the Baathist regime in Iraq, despite his torture and imprisonment, but he did not stop fighting this regime with his fiery words. Muzaffar al-Nawab passed away after a struggle with illness in the city of Sharjah in the Emirates.
