The only reason for this is that these activists have criticized the sectarianism of local authorities when dealing with the people of Mosul. These civil activists also spoke out against corruption.

In response to the warrant, some activists in Mosul have decided to carry out a protest against the local government, in order to cancel the warrant.

These activists are young, progressive people who have contributed to drive out ISIS from Mosul as well as contributing to the peace-building process in post ISIS Mosul.

Their activism is therefore threatening to the local government since these young activists do not only seek justice and a civil government free of corruption and sectarianism but also want to join the political process.
