The Cabinet of the prime minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi approves the draft for military service law and refers it to Parliament (31.8.2021).

We reject this law because Iraq does not need more soldiers, but rather needs more jobs, education, ending unemployment, and other social services!.

We already have enough soldiers under different names such as (ISIS, militias, army, police, tribal system and lots of unauthorized weapons).

Why the government insists on militarizing our society more than it is, as many Iraqi cities are full of weapons and military culture.

This decision will complicate our society more, creating a generation full of barbarism that does not know mercy, humanity or civil life.

If the government wants to end unemployment or militias role by this decision, then they are wrong.
Because militias, unemployment are exists for political reasons!.

If the government has enough money to pay salaries to the 70% youth of Iraq, as soldiers, then there are other solutions to use this money, such as opening factories, farms, enacting civil not sectarian laws, providing social security, withdrawing weapons from cities and ending the political and military role of militias that based on sectarian laws.

They should also spread the concepts and values of civil life through awareness, education, and return rights to their owners, in addition to spreading social justice, freedom, gender equality, enacting laws that protect women.

The most important thing is to stop the government funding for the militias,
end the sectarian system on which the government relies in state facilities, army and police, in terms to not create more militias every year.
