On Sunday, Iraqis marched in more than 12 cities around the world, demanding an end to the impunity for the killing of activists and journalists, since the protest movement in the country in 2019.
It is noteworthy that the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) documented 48 incidents of attempted murder of protesters between October 1, 2019 and May 15, 2021.

At least 20 protesters kidnapped by militias are still missing.

Pro-Iran militias, including factions of the Popular Al hashed Al shaabi, are widely involved in the assassinations of protesters.

Since the outbreak of the uprising in October 2019, Iraq has witnessed a wide campaign of assassinations, kidnappings and threats against the protest organizers.

The campaign spread on social media in Iraq, mobilizing Iraqi youth in rallies in 14 countries around the world, including, Baghdad, London, and Paris.

  • The idea of the End Impunity campaign is not to strengthen the state against the militias, as some of the pro-regime journalists like to portray it.
The idea behind it is simply to organize the relations between society inside and outside Iraq in order to end the role of the Islamic militias and direct a political strike to them.
It is not possible to remain silent anymore about the killing of activists by the Islamic militias.

Bilal group says:
“What is our demands? : End Impunity.
