Baghdad, November 17

Electricity workers (daily contracts) went out in massive demonstrations in front of the Ministry of Electricity to demand that they be recognized as official workers with official contracts and raise the level of their monthly wages to the official legal limit.

The Ministry of Electricity exploits these daily workers in order to steal their salaries, because if they are recognized as official workers, they will be subject to the Iraqi labor law, which gives workers better wages and more rights.

The workers confirm through the microphone that they are not afraid of anyone or of repression as long as they are out with legitimate demands, these demands are their rights and there is nothing to scare them from demanding their rights.
