Let’s listen together to political activist Roskar Abdullah and his talk about the 2021 elections, which take place during a very poor security environment, where we witness weekly and monthly assassinations of many activists in Iraq.
((Hello and Welcome, dear listeners, this is Sami Adnan and today we‘re having in this episode our dear guest, the political activist Roskar Abdullah from Baghdad. Welcome Roskar
R ; welcome my dear thank you for having me .
S ; today’s topic includes assassinations and the electoral process in relation to assassinations since the October 2019 revolution and until now Iraqi cities have turned into arenas for settling accounts, especially against activists and protesters. The city of Basra has turned into a tragic scene for this horrible campaign of assassinations against activists, and so far no one has been punished for these crimes, which spread fear among the demonstrators. Unfortunately, there are no firm and clear statistics about the number of activists who were assassinated, but the numbers recorded by activists on social media range from 100 to 200. Today, with our dear guest, we will discuss the political goals and their relationship to the elections. Roskar, can you tell us exactly why the assassinations came after the October uprising, and why they have not ended yet?))
