Armed Sadrists attacked peaceful protesters and burned their tents in Nasriyah’s Haboubi Square which resulted into the killing of four protesters.

This is an early attempt the silent the protest movement as the Sadrists allegedly have a very high chance to win the 2021 elections according to many observers and analysts. Establishing a hostile attitude towards Nasriyah, the proclaimed capital of the October uprising will only flip the table on Muqtada al-Sadr and his popularity which decreased significantly during the 2019/2020 anti-government protests.
