Our Narrative Campaign

Sectarianism affected the process of agricultural exchange. Such as buying and selling and the nature of the agricultural market. It divided the community into small groups separated from each other and immersed in their own affairs. One of the farmers says that he misses his customers who used to come to him from the western side of Iraq, as their coming to his farm stopped with the beginning of the American occupation and the sectarian war in Iraq. Where farmers used to exchange agricultural production throughout Iraq, but now it is limited to the neighborhood and its surroundings only. This leads to a significant loss in financial returns, as sectarianism has even affected movement, freedom of movement, and socio-economic relations. All of these problems come together to explain how the sectarian system affected the change in agricultural identity in our neighborhood.
